# Embargo Lift
URL: https://remocn.dev/docs/typography/embargo-lift

"remocn is free, open source and out today" in condensed type with a green accent

- Install: `npx shadcn@latest add @remocn/embargo-lift`
- Vibe: clean
- Natural length: 102f @ 30fps

## Installation

```bash
npx shadcn@latest add @remocn/embargo-lift
```

## Usage

```tsx
// src/Root.tsx
import { Composition } from "remotion";
import { EmbargoLift } from "@/components/remocn/embargo-lift";
const EmbargoLiftScene = () => <EmbargoLift lines={["remocn is [free],", "[open source]", "and [out today]."]} slug="Embargoed until 9:00 a.m." liftedSlug="Embargo lifted, 9:00 a.m." />;
export const RemotionRoot = () => (
  <Composition
    id="EmbargoLift"
    component={EmbargoLiftScene}
    durationInFrames={140}
    fps={30}
    width={1280}
    height={720}
  />
);
```

The lines show with bracketed phrases hidden behind redaction bars under an embargo slug; the slug flips to the lifted version and the bars lift one at a time to reveal the words. Mark hidden phrases in `lines` with square brackets, and pass `slug`, `liftedSlug` and `highlight` (the bar that gets the accent).

## Props

| Prop | Type | Default | Description |

| `liftedSlug` | `string` | `"Embargo lifted, 9:00 a.m."` | Label shown once the embargo lifts. |
| `highlight` | `number` | — | Index of the bar that takes the accent; defaults to the last. |
| `accent` | `string` | — | Color of the highlighted bar; defaults to the theme accent. |
| `background` | `string` | — | Stage fill color; pass "transparent" to overlay your own footage. |
| `speed` | `number` | `1` | Playback multiplier for the whole timeline. |
| `theme` | `"dark" \| "light"` | `"dark"` | Color scheme; ships dark and light. |

## Use when
- A launch-day announcement where the key facts are revealed from behind redaction bars.
- A press-embargo style teaser for a release date.
- A three-line statement where the important words are uncovered one by one.

## Don't use when
- You want a plain one-line reveal with no redaction look — use `mask-reveal-up`.
- You are thanking testers instead of announcing — use `beta-thanks`.
- The reveal should come from a transition between two scenes — use `fade-through`.
